You were made with a purpose
God created this world, animals, and people. Out of love — not obligation. You were not an accident. You have divine purpose.
Something has gone wrong
Man sinned against God, and we all have over the generations inherited that sin nature. You sin because you are a sinner. It's a matter of identity. Because of this sinful nature, we all sin against God daily. The solution is a new heart, and a new identity.
You and I broke God's law, Jesus paid the fine
Jesus Christ was born sinless, lived a perfect life, died on the cross, and rose again — defeating sin and death for good. Jesus paid the price for every sin that has ever, and will ever be committed.
The offer is open
Anyone who repents of their sin and turns to Jesus in faith is forgiven and made new. Not earned. Not deserved. Freely given. The choice is yours.
Still doesn't make sense?
Imagine you get a speeding fine and have to appear before a judge. If you refuse to admit guilt, but they have indisputable evidence against you, the judge will find you guilty. Even if you are a really good and nice person, you still broke the law and a righteous judge will send you to jail. If someone in the court room says that he will pay the fine for you, on condition that you plead guilty and that you refrain from speeding in future. If you accept the offer, you get to walk free legally. If not, you go to jail and justice is served.
This is what Jesus did for every person on earth. He paid your fine. It is a free offer. If you repent of your sin, meaning you turn away from sin, and accept the offer, you will get a new heart with a new desire and a new identity as a child of God. You too can inherit eternal life.
